Are you thinking of starting a claim or are you being sued in Small Claims Court? The Small Claims Court is a simple process allowing individuals and businesses to commence an action for an amount of up to $25,000.

The Legal Information Centre can help you understand the rules and procedures of the Small Claims Court if you intend to sue an individual or a business for the payment of money, to obtain a remedy for harm caused, or to recover property that belongs to you.

The Ottawa Legal Informaiton Centre offers a free 30-minute meeting with a lawyer in person or by telephone to all residents of Ontario. Information, referral and support services are offered in English and in French, on a confidential basis.
